The Church of Renfrew was bestowed by King David on the Cathedral Church of Glasgow in 1136. The present church in early Gothic style was built in 1861-2. Within the sanctuary are two late medieval monuments, a hooded vault with recumbent effigies and an altar tomb.

0104 This stone is the property of William Patrick, mason, Renfrew, and Jean Gray his wife, and erected in memory of Jean Patrick their daughter who died 4 years and 9(?) months. This stone was erected about the year 1745 restored by Elizabeth Patricks, husband, Archd. Shearer 1901(?)

0104 Shearer. Erected by Archd. Shearer in loving memory of his wife Elizabeth Patrick born 2nd Novr 1818(?) died 26th April 1900(?), their daughter Julia G(?) Shearer born 12th June 1866(?) died 21st Jany 1876(?) also the above Archd Shearer born 25th Jany 1818 died 14th Jany 1912 and their son Walter born 9th Sep 1850 died 30th March 1922(?) and their daughter Janet born 26th(?) October 1859 died 13th(?) November 1928(?). "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord"

0105 Erected by George Waterston in memory of Agnes his daughter who died 18th June 1855. John his son died 19th July 1855 aged 6 years. George Waterston died 14th October 1868 aged 47 years. Jane Hamilton his wife died 13th September 1887 aged 68 years, also of Martha Boyd Waterston, daughter of the above died 22nd February 1932 in her 86th year. Jessie Waterson died 25th December 1932 aged 77 years.

0107 The burial place of George Boyd, wood merchant in Renfrew, Janet his daughter died 13th April 1809 aged 6 years, Janet Duncan his spouse died 17th January 1821 aged 55 years, George Boyd died 29th March 1845 aged 76 years. This tablet was erected in affectionate remembrance of George Boyd died 2nd October 1872 aged 66 years, Margaret Clark spouse of George Boyd, died 11th August 1856 aged 55 years, John C Boyd their son died 19th October 1865 aged 25 years, George Boyd their son died at Glassdrum 25th May 1879 aged 42 years, John Clark, son of George Boyd, died 6th February 1880 aged 10 months, George his son, died 15th June 1921 aged 45 years, Elizabeth MacCallum wife of George Boyd died 13th December 1929 aged 84 years, Duncan Maccallum Boyd their son died 12th December 1945 aged 68 years.
